“Mr. Owl, How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?”
There is something nostalgic about a Tootsie Pop. The 70’s commercial with the owl unleashed a challenge for the rest of time, as far as I am concerned. As children we would faithfully count the licks until the bite just happened, or probably until we were bored with the counting. As adults it seems easier to savor the lollipop and because of a love chocolate, the counting seems insignificant. Counting or not, it’s a chuckle to think a bite into the chewy center is clearly an accomplishment.
I would love to know if you meet the challenge again. My 4 year old test subject licked it once and bit it. Smile. He simply asked me why would he want to count; he likes candy.
Logic has spoken.
Regardless, I’ll bet you are still curious too.
Whether you savor it, or devour it, DO take the time to enjoy it.
