The Grinch stood behind me with that look. The take the challenge look I knew as a competitive runner for almost 40 years. I nodded, smiled and turned towards the starting line. I was proud of myself for choosing to ignore him. In another time I would have make sure that look was put in it’s place. Not today.
Today the Santa Hustle is my first race where competition is not the agenda. Instead, it was the about the gathering of family and to bask in the Christmas spirit,
It was about candy cane socks,
And energy stops,
And simply hustling along with Santa.
But…OK, I admit I couldn’t let him win. I did indeed beat that Grinch.
And that my friends…is bliss.
Merry Christmas from my family to yours, Donna

I SOOOOO missed not doing the Santa run this year due to my crapped-out knee……

Next year! I had the knee thing last year, made it twice as fun this year. Surgery?

no, fortunately. just physical therapy, if I can ever get that scheduled! I’m hoping the 5K thing will still be a possibility later in the spring.
