In this journey called life we often seem to live up or down to the expectations of others. We let societal influences dictate how we should look and act, and we often compromise what true to you looks like.
Why?
In this journey called life shouldn’t we be the one who makes someone says: now that is living? Shouldn’t we be the trendsetter? Shouldn’t we know what is best for us?
Shouldn’t we?
Shout out to those who aspire to be themselves.
No Resolutions required.
Your turn. Do you believe in resolutions?
Donna
being yourself is the only way to actually live. the rest are just about surviving.
I don’t believe in New Year resolutions. when a person decides something needs to be done, the year and date becomes irrelevant.
nice post 🙂

I guess we all live for surprises. 😀 Makes life a little bit more fun when you don’t know what’s around the corner. But hey, careful steps there. 😀

And thank you. Quiet here, but like it like that. Hope you had a nice day as well. It is nice to see you coming up with stories again. Actually have so much respect for those of you who are able to just type into the computer exactly what you want to say. Often I have to think then write. Thank s again. I always enjoy when you “stop by”.

Are we having a “Stopping by” debate again. I grew very fond of your backyard pool. May I borrow a ducky?

Actually< I have a 4 foot long floating froggy that I bought for the grandchildren, but all of us "trying to be grownups" like it better. His name is Big Joe. It was on the tag so I can't take credit for then name. It is great for laughs. And yes. The pool isn't going anywhere….

I don’t really make any. If I’m going to do something, it’s because I want to really do it, not because I made some resolution at the beginning of the year.

Yes. goals. I wake up everyday with lists of lists and goals, but resolutions are not for me either.

Beautiful post. Thank you for writing it. And, yes, you are right, to be yourself is the most important battle. One that we have to fight and keep fighting over and over again.
That being said, I do not make resolutions. I set myself goals. Ones that I believe in, ones that are going to help me become who I aspire to be.

Me too. I think that is how life should look. And I think this blogging world does that for us.. Putting ourselves out there and also finding a side we might not know through our writing. Thanks for your comment.

I do believe in resolutions but they happen everyday and in every decision we make. Without resolve, there is very little to drive us. And in order for it to truly be a resolution, it has to come from within ourselves.

yes. whole heartily agree. Who my feet hit the floor in the morning that list, the “what does today look like” formulates the day. Thanks.

I don’t really wanna set resolutions because they imply I’m not already trying to be my best life. I rather wanna live every day on its own 🙂
However, I must admit, I’ve actually written down my ‘resolutions’ on my blog^^

I think deep down we all have our resolutions/goals, but the bottom line is indeed what are we going to be the best us.

Yeah I don’t think there’s many people not thinkin about the future at all. And if there are, I wonder if they are happier? Maybe so, however, I can’t ignore my wishes for my future.

Great post. I’ve not made any resolutions for more years than I care to remember, but from this point on I will make an exception: to reduce the amount of plastic I buy/use and to be more ‘earth conscious.’

I love that Jane. So often resolutions are about how we are going to become skinnier, healthier, but to be more diligent about purchases, seems like it could be twofold. I find when we are “eating right”, we purchase more food in it’s natural form and reduce waste altogether. Great choice.
