Is the mountain out?
One of the first things you learn when you move to Seattle is to look for Mount Rainier. I think it might be Seattle speak for is the sun out. Whatever the reason, it is a breathtaking, dominant presence on the horizon, and to see it means there is reprieve from the rainy weather.
Cheers.

That top picture is stunning. Not sure that the bottom quite fits the theme, but I still like it!

Thank you and you are right, but I love the seals of the Puget sound. 😂

Makes a change not to see photographs of Seattle in the rain.

Gorgeous. I hope to get there sooner than later. There was a chance we’d be visiting this summer, but decided on Glacier National Park instead. Next time…

AHH, HOME!!
I have posted this before but in case you never heard this…there is an older local (Seattle) folk musician who wrote a song many years ago as part of his claiming the Northwest as home. It’s called the View from Home by Brian Bowers. The line I love says…
“Out on the road we tell all the turkeys
Yes, it’s always raining and the sun never shines
But all the natives know when the mountain lifts her skirts,
The view from home will flat out melt your mind!
