My first impression of Santa Fe, New Mexico was how colorful and eclectic it was. The locals boast they are “the city different” and that doesn’t need any further interpretation. There is a hippie spirit that emerges from simply wandering the quiet streets, along with a timeless echo inviting you to immerse yourself in the curious alleyways.
The Center Plaza remains the core of the city with Native American markets, gathering places, and restaurants. The benches are merely an invitation to spend a few minutes watching city life walk by, and convince you that Santa Fe is where tradition collides with contemporary. 
So, open some doors,
Walk down those alleys, 
Browse the native markets,
And let Santa Fe color your world.
Unless of course it is adventure you seek…. They’ve got that covered too. Forever humbled by this beautiful country I call…home…

Thank you Gwen. We did like Santa Fe. You would be happy for one night, to get some food and do the markets (on a weekend) If ou thought Bandelier might be on your list, you would need another day. Taos is close too. Don’t bother with Albuquerque, you will be disappointed.

Oh gosh Terri, I would love to see Santa Fe through your camera! Be prepared, it will take you an hour to go around one block. lol. There are just so many hidden little places. and stops for food.

You are so sweet! Next January, my hubby and I may be using our new travel trailer to tour the Southwest for a couple of weeks. I haven’t ever been to the Grand Canyon or any of that area. Santa Fe could be worked in!

Donna, you are the only one who could lure me to the dry, hot Southwest…. I am such a Northwest damp and cool kind of girl! This looks like a very magical and happy place.

What a nice thing to say Jane. I do love it here. That said…coming down following a lot f years in the Pacific NW and Wyoming was a huge change. I just threw my backpack in the Jeep, drove (and hiked) around for months to learn what makes this delicate landscape work, and I fell in love with it. That said. I miss my large yards and gardening up north. It is true what I say and believe, love exactly where you are at the moment. Thank you again.
