Next time the kids say: I just want to play with my toys, let them.
Play is critical to learn how the world works. Play is instrumental in helping children develop character. Play is necessary, and will teach YOU where the gifts and talents of your children thrive. Play is the way children learn, and they don’t even know it.
Do you?

Donna, you are singing my song! I love this post because it is all true! We all need to be children at heart and just play! Here is an older post of mine https://secondwindleisure.com/2015/01/14/why-play-is-important-connecting-the-dots-with-leisure/

Terri, I just visited your link. As I said there, thank you for so eloquently saying what needs to be said. Let them play…… Thanks for your note.

Great post, love this as it’s so important and unusual … we big kids also need to be playful more often!

Wow, thanks Shelley. It felt so incomplete, so I am sure your daughter could add to it. There is so much to the brains of our littlest humans and how they learn. When I was teaching this was always my soapbox.
