Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake baker’s man,                                                                                             Bake me a cake as fast as you can,                                                                                                   Roll it and pat it, mark it with an B.                                                                                                   And put it in the oven for Baby and me. 

 

Fun memories, right? But who knew this little rhyme we all sing with our kids actually teaches them. Just think…while you are having fun, they are developing language and cognitive thought, learning to listen, using math and patterns, refining fine motor skills,  and developing social skills.  Yes, all this wrapped up with love and trust.
