How about a little U2 this morning?
This was one of the first songs I put on my iPod for no other reason than it’s feel good message about having a good day. It is one of those joy-chaser songs that just puts a smile on my face or gets me dancing.
The song crossed my mind while we were on our way to New River in the Sonoran Desert. I think the song is about hope and the notion that somedays in life are harder than other days. I think we can all relate to that. Right?
And guess what? We have this amazing gift of choice. Choosing how we want to walk into morning, to make today… a beautiful day.
So we hit the trail with different motivations.
Yup, as alike we are in adventure we find that we are searching for different things. For him it was the ups and downs.
For me it was the patchwork quilts, compliments of Mother Nature.
For him it was about the adventure of over, under and through.
And me? Breathtaking views of our desert landscape with trickles of water. And if you listen, you will hear the song of the desert.
If the earth were only a few feet in diameter, floating a few feet above a field somewhere, people would come from everywhere to marvel at it.
New River was a stellar example. This beautiful place we all call home.
