Life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences, but rather it is a tapestry of acts that culminate in an exquisite sublime plan – Serendipity.
It was the same walk I take everyday. You would think it gets old. It doesn’t. Seasons change, the sunrise does too. And lately, what’s blooming in the desert is a mystery. Today owl’s clover blankets the trail and I note that there seems to be a sequence. The poppies arrived first, followed by lupine and now the cover. It seems to dance across the landscape with whispers from the sun.

One of these days I am going to take notes on what I hear instead of what I see. Not today. The bench, where I often sit to gather my thoughts, has decided it is the perfect place for Globe Chamomile to surface. And while the weed is an invasive species to our desert, it certainly looks welcome today.

My home garden has a surprise too. The sunflower winks a hello for the first time, the snapdragons announce this was their day, and the snap peas will delight the grandkids this weekend. They have been on alert to be sure the naughty squirrel leaves their peas alone. So far, so good.

The pool looks inviting and is ready for the first splash of the season. Until then we rock on and count our blessings.

But wait… I forgot about the hummingbird I have swatted away at the beginning of my walk for two weeks now. She has a surprise this morning too. Not to worry mama, your secret is safe with me.

Wind Kisses, Donna
Oh how precious that little hummingbird is! Sweet little one!
That globe chamomile coming up through the bench has me laughing! Great shot… but that stuff stinks sooooooo bad!
Beautiful pictures my friend. Have fun with the Littles enjoying the sweet peas!

ha oh yes as sweet as the chamomile looks, its more common name is “stink net”, which is quite apropos.
Thank you.

It’s unbelievable, and since I get out everyday into the desert, I see the changes happening daily. Thanks Jodie. So Brilliant.

Those flowers will bloom here in Denmark in May, most probably June. They are so beautiful. I never saw that kind of camomille before. The hummingbird’s nest looks so neat, a little piece of art.

I really is art. We commented on how it was so intricately woven. Seems like a lot of work, but hatching eggs IS a lot of work too. In May, I will be furiously watering everything in hopes of being ahead of the heat the comes in June. WE all have our shows, don’t we? I will look forward to yours.

How precious, Donna – a hummingbird nest. The egg is as big as she is. How in the world do hummingbirds sit on eggs? Your wildflowers are certainly bright and beautiful, and I’d love to have a bite of that baby pea. I miss my garden! 🙂

I love to garden. Wish mine was big, but with our travel, fun plantings for the kids are just that..fun. And yummy. I was delighted to find the hummingbird nest. A perfect example of why we need to pay attention while out and about. The nests are so small. I went by there today and the second egg still has not hatched. It is smaller than a jellybean. Thank you for your thoughts. Always appreciated.

Wow, it looks much bigger in your picture. A jelly bean size makes more sense. 🙂

Perhaps John Muir said it best, “In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”

It is so true, and I don’t always think it has to be too far away. We just need to pay attention…always.
