Life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences, but rather it is a tapestry of acts that culminate in an exquisite sublime plan – Serendipity.

It was the same walk I take everyday. You would think it gets old. It doesn’t. Seasons change, the sunrise does too. And lately, what’s blooming in the desert is a mystery. Today owl’s clover blankets the trail and I note that there seems to be a sequence. The poppies arrived first, followed by lupine and now the cover. It seems to dance across the landscape with whispers from the sun.

One of these days I am going to take notes on what I hear instead of what I see. Not today. The bench, where I often sit to gather my thoughts, has decided it is the perfect place for Globe Chamomile to surface. And while the weed is an invasive species to our desert, it certainly looks welcome today.

My home garden has a surprise too. The sunflower winks a hello for the first time, the snapdragons announce this was their day, and the snap peas will delight the grandkids this weekend. They have been on alert to be sure the naughty squirrel leaves their peas alone. So far, so good.

The pool looks inviting and is ready for the first splash of the season. Until then we rock on and count our blessings.

But wait… I forgot about the hummingbird I have swatted away at the beginning of my walk for two weeks now. She has a surprise this morning too. Not to worry mama, your secret is safe with me.
