In Yellowstone we were nature’s guest. It was a place where we met nature in it’s most spectacular showing.
There is no other place in the world where you can see so many changes in the earth while watching wildlife in their native habitat.
Ten years ago we called it home.

Looking sharp for the ladies, my friend.

Sometimes the sharpest are the ones hitching the ride.

Sharp-eyed.

Sharp perch.

Thank you Denzil for giving me a chance to sharpen my memory.
Wind Kisses, Donna
Yellowstone is a unique and amazing place. We need to go there again but thanks for the mini-trip here. ❤

I realized when I was looking for “sharp” images, antlers would work, and than I got lost in my archives. We had the best time there. Because of the length of time, I learned of a more up close and personal look at Yellowstone. We would love to go back too.

Great title connected to beautiful pictures and clever captions. I have made it to Yellowstone a few times. It never disappointed. Even saw a Grizzly saunter across the road.

You are lucky. Geoff. Many people go to Yellowstone to stop many people for the bears too. lol. Thank goodness there are so many other interesting things to see, like people who think is ok to pet a bison, and wonder why the mama charges. And when it says don’t walk on the thermal features because you WILL fall through, and they do…. Sad and yet…well you know…

I was hiking in Yellowstone with three others and a big bison was resting fairly close to the trail. I took a long detour around and was considered quite a wimp. Hey, those animals are big and I don’t think they have signed an agreement not to mess with me.

And you were the smart one. I was staring at life one day when one charged me, unprovoked. We learned later a grizzly had lunch there a few days prior. We saw them charge numerous times. Luckily bear spray deters them too.

Kind of a play on words, I know, but all the photos did indeed have a sharp item in them. Thank YOU for the reminder to look back a fun time in my life. I remember all of the days in the photos with clarity.

They look so cute, cuddly, and helpful. They are a funny creature. AND more dangerous than the grizzly. I miss them.

Thank you, Anita. It was a place that the camera never left my shoulder, even if we went into town for supplies. A moose walking down the street is a fun find too. lol. A special place indeed. thank you.

Yellowstone is a very special place for me since we have been there a few times over the years! I would love to go during the winter some year and ride a snowcoach!

Yes, we have said how nice it would be to see it in the winter. Our first year there, Spring was definitely on the horizon, but there was 20 feet of snow on the sides of the road. The plows cut through them so it felt like a tunnel. Its funny because while it was interesting, I just wanted warmer weather. I now know how lucky I was. And want to return.

That paw print in the last belongs to which animal?

One without the bear attached..thank goodness. Most likely just a black bear. When I took the photo, I thought sure it must be a grizzly, based on the size. Over time I got better with identifying all the prints. Became a fun hobby, and also allowed us to be aware of our surroundings for safety.

Beautiful photographs. I was in Yellowstone 22 years ago and came face to face with a large moose. Although terrified at the time I will never forget how large and majestic he looked. Fortunately for me the moose was just as terrified and we both ran in opposite directions. LOL . Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day!

hahaha they are almost always more afraid us us than we are of them. Not always. You are lucky to have seen a moose. With the fires after you were there, they relocated to the Tetons. The landscape was so conducive to their lifestyle, very few returned to Yellowstone.
Funny story…. Thanks Debbie.

Nice photos of yellowstone, the Elk rubbing its neck against a tree, Bison with Birds on its back. Is that a Black Bear Track next to your foot?

Yes. To the best of my knowledge. A grizzly has toes in a straighter line. Over our two years in Yellowstone we found a lot of prints. This happens to be one of my favorites since the perspective is right on. The coolest prints were those mingling with wolf prints on the edge of Lake Yellowstone. We didn’t stick around too long once we stumbled across those. All fascinating though. Thanks Shawn.
