The sign above the door, as you leave my house, says, Live Simply. It is also the laundry room…whatever that means.
And while I pretend I don’t need the reminder, I make a mental note to pay more attention to the little things, the simple pleasures in life. The goal? An effort to let go of the chaos, worry, and stuff. Yes, that stuff we all love to hate.
Less is more is a great way to begin.

Simplicity? It means something different to all of us. With photography I find inspiration with those moments that surprise me, awe me, and guide me. At the beach it doesn’t always have to be the sunset, or the crashing waves. Sometimes it acts as a beacon, a reminder to pay attention to the little things…
..And then you realize how ordinary it is to love the beautiful, and how beautiful it is to love the ordinary-unknown.

And at White Sands nothingness is quite beautiful too, isn’t it?

On the coast, photos are always deliberate, and I am certain I can speak for others who might crave what quiets the mind. I know this because of those exact moments in time we feel inspired to stop. Your heart does know the way. Go there and…
Wherever you stand, be the soul of that space. – Rumi

Personally, I think simplicity is a state of mind. And while I am not sure all my photos fit the challenge today, it is where I feel inspired to land. In this road called life, we are supposed to be in touch with our body, mind, and spirt. We are supposed to find places to breathe deeper and just be a little longer. Can it be taught? Maybe.
Think about a moment in time. Close your eyes. Fall in love. Stay there.

And those moments? Take care of them.
I am convinced there can be luxury in simplicity too-J. Sander.
