In Arizona, there is no shortage of warm colors. Our red rocks and sunset-colored landscapes are commonplace. With some contemplation, I decided Antelope Canyon will enjoy some bragging rights today. This powerful and sacred Navajo land is formed by millions of years of water funneling through it’s sandstone walls. I am humbled by it’s aura, and captivated by the way the walls play with sunlight.
And I understand how this connection with nature defines harmony for it’s people.

On to Yellowstone, where nature is presented in it’s most spectacular showing. The colorful hot springs are fed from underground runoff. Their colors are in direct correlation to the heat-loving microbes that thrive in specific temperatures. Most of us know, while blue mimics the sky and thought of as a cooler color, it is the hottest of hot springs.
For today….let’s enjoy the warm-colored springs… and echos of home for me.

Arizona is our forever home. We continue to enjoy the outdoors and everything the southwest has to offer. I could show you some more of our iconic landscapes. Maybe another day. Today I will take you downtown to Tempe Blooms, an annual flowery event held in January. The city showcases blooming, to include: budding artists, live muralists, and local bands .
And I found warm.

The highlight of the day for me was in the mural below. Completely impressed by the amazing talent, a closer look will reveal the mural was more than just art of a pretty girl. It was a self-portrait, and clearly reflective of both her body and her soul.

Yes, we love Arizona, but in all honestly, the attraction to land here was…well…a different kind of warmth.
We call it: grandchildren.
