Whether we like it or not, it has arrived.
My hat is off to John this week as he challenges us with sharing our thoughts and images on a controversial subject – the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Photography. Even if you are not a fan, I encourage you to visit his post, Journeys with Johnbo. He gets a standing ovation from me because while this topic feels out of my comfort zone, he makes it interesting and will tempt you to give it a go too.
This challenge offers me a great opportunity to try the AI Assistant provided by WordPress. It can be found on the right of the draft page. I was more curious than anything else, and after playing a bit, I admit to being completely intrigued. I found it fun and a little addicting to see what AI deciphered with my directions. I started with simply using my blog’s name, Wind Kisses. It felt like a great start.
Feathers appear when our angels are near.

Next I added the prompt, wind kisses from above, and the photo seems to show a moment where heaven meets the earth and time simply blows on by.

I especially liked the next set. AI created these lovely images when I asked, for seeds blowing in the wind.
All I need is to throw the seeds in the wind and trust the universe will have me bloom where I am planted. – Jennae Cecelia
Finally, I couldn’t resist a search for, dandelions in the wind, since they feel symbolic of wind kisses.
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. – Thoreau.
Wind Kisses, Donna
Impressed? Yes. I learned a lot and with John’s direction, AI feels a little less intimidating. I decided against editing any of my own photos with AI, because while I enjoy seeing the way others use it, it feels like an art form independent of photography to me. As a rule, I enjoy the simple art of photography with minimal editing.
