It might be described as wild, rugged, vast, and majestic. At least that is the way I dreamed it up. And for the record, I would be right. Pods of whales, bears and eagles are commonplace. And adventure exists outside, everywhere….in Alaska.

Surprises do too.

It is more that that. To me, it felt more like a land of promises, of ethereal beauty, and a lesson in how grace works in both a place and it’s people. I discovered pristine has a deeper meaning than I had ever experienced, and at a loss for words felt appropriate more often than not.

Mesmerized comes to mind too.

I never thought Alaska might be described as dreamy until I read Ann-Christine’s challenge this week. It felt a little like a missing piece to my thoughts and brought a new level of understanding to profound. Thank you, AC. I am indeed feeling Dreamy
And while I think so many of us want to dream until our dreams come true, there is something especially dreamy about patience, and unmatched natural beauty waiting out there…unexpectedly.
Be ready.

Wind Kisses, Donna

Your amazing images show the dreamy quality of exploring a land like Alaska, Donna! Eagles, glaciers and auroras, wonderful Tribeca. And lasting memories.

Really enjoyed these images. I’d love to visit Alaska, but have to be content with reading about it and viewing YouTubes AND your photos.

Loved how you wrote about Alaska. This line really resonated with me ; and at a loss for words felt appropriate more often than not. The images lived up to those words. Beautiful post

My best friend went to Alaska a few years back and she said it changed her, it seems like it has a very unique magic to it. I can feel the same from your post, Donna.

thank you, Sofia. It is unique. Of course there are some expectations when you go, but to be there is different than I could imagine.

Thank you Sarah. I am surprised you haven’t been there. Of course there are areas that are very much as you would expect, but so much is more unique than I imagined. I think I would like to go when it is light all day and night. We do have another trip planned where we will take a train to Denali. There is SO much to see. Thank you.

We’ve ‘nearly’ been a few times but always opted for somewhere else, e.g. this summer’s Arctic trip. But I reckon we’ll get there one day!

Very dreamy images Donna. I love that first especially, but the last one made me look a couple of times, I thought it was waves, then when I had a closer look I realised they were clouds, fantastic.

When I took the photo I thought it looked like waves too. I used it because of the peak of the turquoise glacier. Fascinating to me, and the whole experience, dreamy.
