I hope she always remembers this feeling she fell into.
There were a million questions to ask, but sometimes I think we just need to leave it.
Let it be.
She just needed to watch the water from the tap of her finger make ripples, over and over again.
And I wish I would have thought of it first….

My 12-year old son is on the spectrum, and he loves sitting on the beach just watching the waves and probably listening to the sound as well. One time he sat there for 2 hours, so peacefully. What thoughts crossed his mind, I wondered. I’ll never know. But I wish I could sit still for two hours and not worry about things to do.

That’s how I felt watching my granddaughter. Thank goodness they tap into these moments. Especially your 12 year old. Seems to me, the beach might be his respite.

It was. To turn around and see her stopped me for a moment as well. Thank you, Dan

You do wonder what she is thinking but I agree that sometimes it is wise to just let it be.

Yes. I think we all need reminders of this in our lives. Always so busy these days, especially kids.

Has to be the sweetest Last Photo. I could do that as a kid too. Now there’s too much to think about. Thanks for joining in Donna with a triple up! 🙂

I was barbecuing steak, and turned around to her in that moment. Me too. Always finding places for calm. Thanks Brian.

I”m glad you didn’t ask her anything. I understand her feeling. I could sit and watch waves or rippling water for ages, just being mesmerized and relaxing.

I know. I definitely can relate. Just blew me away as she is 3. That is why I hope she never loses that sense.

I hope that as well. You’ll be a good influence in that way.

Silence and peace. I remember when I used to go up.into the Andes with my daughters. Being high up.and away from town, the milky way stood out like a jewelled bracelet in the sky. We would always lay down in the grass and stare at the stars. We would not move or say anything until we saw our first shooting star.

I am going to remember that next time we take all the grandkids camping. There is so much to wonder about in the world. Stars and the galaxy are definitely another one . Thank you.
“a jeweled bracelet in the sky” I love that.

What a great reminder that we can learn from even the youngest. We just have to be willing to listen and sometimes watch. 😊
