I often think the cactus were put on this Earth for our entertainment. Drives through the desert has me constantly looking for ones that personify humans. We aren’t ruffin it on these days, we are just having fun. Since you can’t touch the cactus, it is indeed worth the study.
Come along…
Let us gather here together and celebrate this thing called life.

Let us not be fooled, by the cutest and fluffiest. Their unwelcome stick will last for days. (It is called Teddy Bear Cholla for a reason)

Let us agree, group therapy might get you through that ordeal.
No promises.

And what I WILL promise, is to give you a piggy back, if you admit I was right.

Peace out everyone.

Wind Kisses, Donna
So love your American Cacti Donna. I like the one where they seem to be holding on to one another. I had yo look up about Teddy Bear Cholla and the most telling thing was you’d have to be an idiot to touch one. One blokes story was funny the way he told it. The photo of the cactus on top of the rocks is my favourite 🙂 🙂

The top phot is my favorite as well. It really looks like a preacher.
hahaha those dang cholla. I could also tell you some real life stories about them. All the trail say…Dont touch. Yup. There are always the ding dongs. I carry a comb in my backpack as it is about the only way to. get them out because if you touch them, then you are stuck too. But yes, the stories are funny as the babies look like snowballs.
Arizona is the only place in the world where the large saguaro grow and as you might guess, they are protected.

I am glad they are protected as they are iconic 🙂

🙂 I enjoyed seeing all the unusually bent saguaros when we visit Saguaro National Park. Of course they’re that was other places but there were some quite funny ones there. Cacti are certainly the poster children for admiring but not touching!

Don’t you love thinking they look like people? It might be scary at night. Hey once the weather cools, I haven’t forgotten a meet up at The botanical garden .

Sounds good to me. Right now I’m looking forward to heading to Wyoming soon. At 7,000′ it will certainly be cooler although there’s going to be some smoke from all the fires.

Yes…smoke everywhere. Wyoming is still beautiful. Loved our time there.

Fun foray into the feral features of cacti! I’m glad you’re enjoying the local fauna Donna. They are beautiful if a bit prickly! 🤪

They are. And they don’t even get an arm for 70 years, so most are very old forests…if you will. thanks for stopping by. Donna
