New beginnings.
Rains that spill into rainbows.
Incoming tides.
And the setting sun.
Today, with Earth Day on the horizon and we are reminded to be deliberate in our place on this earth. I came across this little guy on a walk the other day. I knew he was stuck when I retraced my steps and he was still there. Doesn’t take much time to take the time, when you can. And it was certainly worth his wait.
Being humble means recognizing that we are not on earth to see how IMPORTANT we can become, but to see how much DIFFERENCE we can make in the lives of others. – George Hinkley
We will be known forever by the tracks we leave.
Wind Kisses, Donna
And the tracks most of us are currently leaving behind, aren’t good one for the future generations.
Lovely captures and thoughts for the Earth Day, Donna 🙂

That’s such a heartwarming story! It’s a beautiful reminder of the impact even small acts of kindness can have on others, whether they’re human or animal. Thank you, Donna, for sharing and for being someone who takes the time to make a difference in the world!

lol. working on it. It was one of those times..to do it because it was the right thing to do. I don’t like lizards. so it was a stretch for me. lol

Stepping out of your comfort zone for the greater good—now that’s admirable!
Even if lizards aren’t your cup of tea, your willingness to do the right thing speaks volumes.
Congratulations, Donna for embracing unexpected acts of kindness, even when they involve reptilian encounters! 🦎😄

Great series of images.
Love the one of the lizard crawling out of the metal grating. It’s a particularly good image to share on Earth Day and a reminder of how much humans are affecting the environment.
I also like the cactus(?) flowers. I’ll bet that was a hard composition and DOF to capture the flowers in a pleasing arrangement.

Hi Vicki, thank you. Yes, the baby lizard deserved to live, sticky feet, and flappy tail included. Yes, a Santa Rita Cactus with purple pads. it flowers yellow so a brilliant contrast. Today I kind of liked seeing the buds. I have to give credit to my camera. I find places and things I love and let the camera work the magic. Thank you, again.

Aside from your stunning images of new beginnings, to know you took a minute of your life to help a sweet little reptile, brought tears to my eyes, Donna. I have helped countless bugs and spiders out of my house, and if they’re dead by then, they become bird food. Think of the bugs that lizard will eat to keep you from chasing them away yourself ❤ Happy Earth Day!

Yes. I have seen lizards sitting near ant hills gorging themselves. They all have a purpose. We constantly rescue bees from our pool too, and the kids have learned the same. They used to be afraid, but it’s all how we introduce things, isn’t it? Thank you so much Terri. This was a great place to share my last week with thoughts of Earth Day.

Hahaha. He was. Scurried happily away, and I swear I saw him today. He ran across the path and sat next to the rock he ran to the other day. I think this was a test. Lol. You DO remember how much I love crittery things. 😳. I had prayed he wasn’t going to be there in my return. I didn’t touch him. I flicked him out with a stick. 🤣

I did wonder how you did the rescue 🤔 My last rescue, a young Lorikeet, gave thanks by biting me and gripping on, drawing blood. My skin stood no chance against seed cracking beaks 😬

Good for you being the rescuer. Your photos are lovely examples of the earth God’s entrusted to us. We’re not doing a very good job of caring for it. But we can all do the one small thing as you did…and then the next and the next.

Yes, that all we can do, and set the example for future generations to do the same. Thanks Janet.

Spectacular celebration of Earth Day, Donna. The hope, the riot of colour, dynamism of life. Beautiful captures. My favourite is the cutie peeping out from the grating? Do you know what kind of lizard it is?

Hi, Ju-Lyn. I wish I had my grandson with me. He would have known. He also told me I should have just picked it up. lol. He thought using a stick might have hurt it. But it is safe and that is all that matters. Thank you.
