I love these doors! They conjure up so many ideas about what might have been going on in the past.

Thanks Dan. It was fascinating. We have been to plenty of mines, but these even had core samples left. It seemed as if one day the mine closed, and the miners walked out. Thank you for this challenge.

It’s my pleasure. It means I get to see places like this.

It was. I didn’t go in too far. We had a firefighter in our group. He was more afraid of fumes than collapse. Better to be safe, in my opinion, but I know I missed a lot. One of the photos had the dad of the young boy on the second level. Kind of hard to see.

I’d be cautious too

The doors are windows to ‘down below’

Looking for a ladder for that man to get out with. Maybe he had a rope?? Great door post!

The interesting piece was, the second level was accessed from about 100 yards in. I didn’t go that far, but interesting for those who did. that is his son in the foreground. He didn’t allow him to go. Put me in charge “just in case”. lol

I so adore your take on doors. Your first photo shows how big the opening is. Wonderful 😀

Doors are so fun to photograph, because as a viewer we always wonder what’s behind them!
