What comes to mind when you think of the color green? Nature? Health? Shamrock Shakes? Envy? Spring? …Eggs and Ham?
I can’t help but to think of the entire spectrum. I love mint chocolate-chip ice cream, the pistachio walls in my office, and my sea-foam nail polish.
What I love more is the fun names people come up with to name the colors.
Anyone else want that job with me?

Green has always been my favorite color. I guess when you are drawn to nature, it is a given.
In Arizona, our succulents and cacti are subtle, more of a jade green. Most are light-colored because of the microscopic hairs on the leaves to protect them from the brutal sun.

With St. Patrick’s Day on the horizon, green takes me back to Ireland. It owns the spectrum with it’s rolling countryside, colorful villages, fishing boats, and heritage.
Here the jade-colored fishing cart accents the harbor in Dingle.

At the Bantry House and Gardens, we found jade-colored, mossy walls of old thatched homes.

And here a jade-colored barn door feels like an invite.

Be reminded… The grass is always greener where you water it. -unknown

You can name the greens by yourself I don’t have enough words to describe green that haven’t already been used 🙂

Thanks Terri. Ireland is a beautiful country. And the people are what make it special. We felt like family everywhere we wandered. Thanks again. A fun challenge. Donna

You found great greens and love the jade that was woven in!
Also thanks for the smile with the quote about grass is greener where you water it! Hahaha

Thank you. It’s amazing where you can find jade if you look just for that. Kinda helped me look at my photos differently. Donna

I feel the same way ! At first I thought i would have to take new images but in the archives I found door photos with various shades of jade (and other greens and so decided to combine the jade/green theme with Thursday doors later this week!
So I was surprised how much jade was there!

Lovely photos and that quote is great! Also, I didn’t know that the light colour of these cacti is due to the hairs that protect them from the hot sun, so thank you for that bit of info 🙂

Yes. Not all cactus, but yes I found it interesting as well when I first moved here. Donna

There’s a lot of green in Arizona…but much of it is surrounded by thorns. 🙂 Green’s my favorite color as well and I know there are lots of greens because it’s difficult to find two that go together! I remember how green Ireland was, a green gem that appeared to have been shrunk in some fashion while still retaining its beauty. I’d love to visit again. And although it’s not green, Guinness was my entry-level dark beer. 🙂 Of course in Chicago, the river ran green on St. Patty’s day but we stayed away from downtown that day!!

I like your description of Ireland. I would enjoy seeing more if the country. The north to be exact. Different up there. My husband loves the Guinness, we both loved the fun academy training.
Always thought the green river would be fun to see. I imagine it’s pretty crowded. Slainte.

Green is even more beautiful when all these green photos are on the same page.
It’s my favourite colour too. And I love nature, so maybe that’s why I love green. Or, am I drawn to nature because of my love for green? Mmm…I’ll have to think about that!
I’ve been to Kerry quite a few times visiting my uncle. But, I haven’t made it to Dingle yet!

Yes nature=green for sure. We lived all of Ireland. Very pretty. How lucky you have an uncle there.
